Position Overview

We’re a growing, family-owned company with big goals—and we’re looking for a high-impact Director of Operations who’s excited to develop and lead our Florida branch

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven individual to lead and oversee all operational functions of our Florida branch location This individual will serve as a key leader within the organization, responsible for managing daily operations, driving profitability, improving efficiencies, overseeing field and office teams, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong construction operations experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple departments while fostering a high-performance culture.

Where You’ll Work

This position is based out of our Orlando, Florida location.

What you’ll do:

Operational Leadership

  • Direct and oversee all day-to-day operations for asphalt paving, milling, site work, and related construction activities
  • Manage branch operations as a fully accountable business unit leader
  • Develop operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate scheduling of crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address operational challenges

Project & Production Management

  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget
  • Review project timelines, manpower allocation, production targets, and resource utilization
  • Collaborate with estimating and project management teams during pre-construction planning
  • Monitor job costing, production reports, change orders, and project profitability
  • Oversee quality control standards and ensure workmanship meets company expectations

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop superintendents, project managers, foremen, shop personnel, and administrative staff
  • Establish accountability standards and performance expectations across departments
  • Conduct regular operational meetings and performance reviews
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce development initiatives
  • Promote a positive, solutions-oriented company culture

Financial Oversight

  • Assist in preparing and managing operational budgets
  • Analyze financial reports, labor costs, equipment utilization, and overall branch performance
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements
  • Support executive leadership in forecasting and strategic planning

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture across all operations
  • Oversee compliance with DOT regulations, environmental standards, and company procedures
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning

Client & Vendor Relations

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, municipalities, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Support business development efforts and assist in maintaining long-term client partnerships
  • Address customer concerns professionally and efficiently

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in asphalt, paving, or general construction
  • Experience overseeing multiple branches or divisions
  • Knowledge of DOT/public works paving projects
  • Background in equipment management and fleet utilization
  • OSHA certifications or safety training credentials
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred but not required
